(Summary description)Melexis, a global microelectronics engineering company, announced the introduction of a new generation of RGB LED controller IC products. As a global leader in automotive ambient lighting solutions, the new MLX81113 will support the further development of LIN-based RGB LED controller automotive interior ambient lighting applications (also known as RGB LED controller). RGB LED controller has almost been recognized by all OEMs worldwide. Compared with the popular MLX81108, MLX81113 has larger on-chip memory, higher constant current source output and stronger EMC stability. In addition, MLX81113 complies with ISO 26262 functional safety requirements and meets ASIL-A level.   MLX81113 enhances the system-on-chip functions and is equipped with MLX16 FX 16-bit RISC microcontroller, 2 KB RAM and 32 KB Flash, and system ROM, which significantly improves application performance. The on-chip EEPROM is increased to 576 bytes for storing user data, such as LED calibration coefficients, thereby ensuring that RGB LED controller for automotive applications have uniform brightness and color. The four-channel constant current source output supports software programming, provides up to 60 mA of current, and supports the use of various RGB LED controller from different suppliers. Independent PWM control supports 16-bit resolution and can be used to adjust any color point and brightness level of the connected RGB LED controller. The built-in temperature monitoring ensures color stability in the temperature range of -40°C to 125°C and allows temperature compensation for all color channels. Any temperature drift of red, green and blue can be fully compensated. We provide a complete tool chain to support rapid application development, including PCB evaluation boards, in-circuit emulators and C compiler packages. To simplify software development for customers, we also provide all necessary software components, including LIN drivers, color mixing and math libraries, and IC initialization routines.   "Lighting is one of the key functions to achieve personalization and differentiation in the cabin of the future. In addition, MLX81113 is designed in accordance with ISO 26262 levels, which facilitates system-level functional safety certification."   MLX81113 contains a complete LIN system, including a transceiver and protocol processing program, used to connect the RGB LED controller environment module with the vehicle's existing LIN network. The system-on-chip complies with the requirements of LIN2.x and SAE J2602 standards and supports automatic addressing to achieve the smallest module size and lowest bill of materials (BOM) cost.
